Claire de Lune Sequel....and Contest!

Hanover Falls hasn’t had a werewolf problem in over one hundred years. Seattle, Copenhagen, Osaka–they’ve had plenty of attacks. But when humans begin dying in Claire Benoit’s town, the panic spreads faster than a rumor at a pep rally. At Claire’s sixteenth birthday party, the gruesome killings are all anyone can talk about. But the big news in Claire’s mind is the fact that Matthew Engle–high-school soccer god and son of a world-renowned lycanthropy expert–notices her. And flirts with her. A lot.

That night, Claire learns that she is the latest in a long line of Benoit werewolves, and that contrary to popular belief, all werewolves are female. Killing humans is forbidden by the code of the pack, but a rogue werewolf has been breaking that law, threatening the existence of Claire’s new pack. As the pack struggles to find and fight the rogue werewolf and Claire struggles with her lupine identity, her heart and her loyalties are torn in two. Claire must keep her new life a secret from even her best friend–and especially from Matthew, whose father is leading the werewolf hunt…and with whom Claire is impossibly and undeniably falling head-over-paws in love.

I have yet to read this, but it's on my list! Hopefully, I'll get to it by the end of the summer because it sounds pretty good. And...so I can become a crazy fan who is counting down the days to the sequel. And, hey! Speaking of the sequel...Christine Johnson, the author, is holding a contest to any book blogger who will have the honor of telling the world the sequel title! From her post:

"As you may know from my Twittering/Facebooking, the sequel to CLAIRE DE LUNE has a title, and I’m ready to announce it – or rather, I’m ready for one of YOU to announce it.
When the contest ends, I will email the contest winner the sequel’s AWESOME title (and any other applicable stuff: see the “details” section below) and they will have 24 hours to do whatever they want with that information. Blog it, tweet it, write it in the sky . . . After the winner releases the title, I’ll blog/tweet/Facebook about it, linking back to the winner.

If I get over 20 entrants, I’ll also include 6 signed bookplates, for giveaway or to keep, whichever the winner wants. If I get over 30 entrants, I’ll include a signed copy of CLAIRE DE LUNE and the bookplates, and if I get over 40 entrants, I’ll include all those goodies plus an interview/guest post for the winning blog.

If you run a book-related blog, you’re eligibile to win. (Non-book-bloggers – don’t fret! I’ll have a contest especially for you next week!)

To enter, simply tweet: “I want to get the title scoop on the #clairedelune sequel by @cjohnsonbooks” for one entry.

You can link to the contest on Facebook it (please leave a link to your post in the comments) or post about it on your blog (please leave a link in the comments) for one entry each.

ALL ENTRIES MUST BE POSTED BY MIDNIGHT, EST, ON SUNDAY THE 18th.

The winner will be drawn randomly on Monday morning, and I’ll email the winner at 9 a.m. EST – the twenty-four hour countdown begins then.

If you have questions, please send me an email or leave ‘em in the comments. Thanks and good luck!"

I have to say, this is an awesome contest and very original! Good luck!!

My Late Read-A-Thon Update

This is a very late post but I've been busy reading and my laptop has not been very cooperative! Anywho, my goal was to read books on my Kindle and laptop because I have so many. Probably about 70 books stored on Adobe Reader- and it really annoys my mom, so...I also read Taken By Storm by Angela Morrison, which fell a little flat for me. But, I did read a book that was soooooo good. It's Switched by Amanda Hocking and you can read my review! I also want to thank her again for sending me a PDF of it!
I have been currently reading Linger as part of an ARC Tour but I've been distracted. I did accomplish to read a book on my laptop, Uninvted by Amanda Marrone. I should have my review up soon!

Switched (Trylle Trilogy) by Amanda Hocking Review!!!

When Wendy Everly was six-years-old, her mother was convinced she was a monster and tried to kill her. It isn't until eleven years later that Wendy finds out her mother might've been telling the truth.

With the help of Finn Holmes, Wendy finds herself in a world she never knew existed - and it's one she's not sure if she wants to be a part of.

Rating: 4.85/5 Stars

Characters: 4.75/5 Stars

Ending: 5/5 Stars

Wendy Everly, now 17 years old, knows there's something different about her. She can make people do things, like compulsion. Or maybe she can't and she's just very persuasive. No matter though, she knows she doesn't fit in with everyone else: she has a picky diet, doesn't like wearing shoes, and has the unruliest brown hair. With the guidance of a fellow student, Finn, she learns of her true identity and what her future holds.

I want to start out by thanking Amanda Hocking for sending me a PDF! This is my new favorite series! I loved all the characters and the unpredictabilty of it. The concept was new and very interesting. I loved the growing relationship between Wendy and Finn, and that Wendy wasn't instantly in love with him the first time she saw him like some other YA novels. The style of writing, and even the cover, is very, um...non-showy? Does that make sense? I don't know but I guess you'll have to read it to see what I mean. I'm a very nit-picky person when it comes to books, ok everything, and I honestly didn't find one thing wrong with the first book in the trilogy. I'm looking forward to the next books and to reading Amanda's other series, My Blood Approves!

2 Other Monday Mini-Challenges

So, for this mini-challenge you have to comment on the post and include:
1. A song you choose to represent a chapter that you are currently reading or have read during the read-a-thon thus far. If the book was turned into a movie, and this chapter was shown, include what music would you want in the background to convey the emotion or environment.

2. List the book/author/chapter that you choose along with the song(s) you choose.

3. Give a quick synopsis about the chapter (No SPOILERS please!) or the circumstances that take place and why you chose the song to represent it.

You can enter this one HERE.

For this mini-challenge, two books will be given away, and all you have to do is post about your favorite fictional couple and a crossover couple that you would like to see. A crossover couple is a pairing that brings together two characters from unrelated books. You can post your responses on your blog, facebook, or twitter & then share the links to your responses in the Mr. Linky boxes on their post so that we can all stop by to read about your choices. You are welcome to post about several of your favorite fictional couples and/or crossover couples, but each participant may only submit one link per mini challenge contest.

My Favorite Fictional Couples
Willow and Guy from Willow by Julia Hoban
Amy and Avi from the How To Ruin Series by Simone Elkeles
Lenny and Joe from The Sky Is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson

Once Upon A Read-a-Thon - Mini Challenge @Book Crazy

Over at Book Crazy, there's an exciting mini-marathon being hosted! It sounds really cool!
Here's the info from her blog:

"We all have a favorite book, right?
We all have a favorite character, right?

What I want you to do, since I am a lover of all things music and photo related is to pick one - or both - and put them together!!...basically pick your favorite book and/or character and pair it with a song and/or photo that reminds you of the person or setting in the book!

Then come back here, and leave a comment with your post url, twitter link or whatever to be entered to win! (Don't forget to leave your email address, or make sure it's available in your blogger profile, if I can't contact you, you can't win!)

You read that right, entered to WIN! Any book of your choice, via Book Depo (so it's international!!!) up to a 20 dollar limit!"

Sounds pretty awesome, right? I love doing all this creative stuff. OK, so for years I've thought this song from one of my favorite tv shows, Instant Star, was perfect for New Moon. Yes, the Twilight series. It's not my favorite book now, but it was at one point. Does that count?? I don't know, I might post another one, but I have to post about this too.

As soon as I heard the song I thought of New Moon. My favorite line that reminds me of Bella and Jacob's relationship is:

Not everything is supposed to come true
Some words are best unsaid
Some love is not really love at all
I'll keep everything I shared with you
And that's enough
There's us

There are some more beautiful lyrics in the song, but this part of the song is what sold me. I love this song, and her cd. So what do you think about the song?
